In a world where powerful animal-shaped combat mechs, known as Zoids, are used in organized sporting competitions, the Blitz Team strives to make a name for themselves. Led by the enigmatic Bit Cloud, the team's fortunes change with the arrival of the temperamental Liger Zero, a Zoid that refuses to let anyone but Bit into its cockpit. As the Blitz Team rises to the top, they attract the unwanted attention of the Backdraft Group, a rogue organization of Zoid pilots operating outside the law.
