Higehiro: After Getting Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway

Yoshida is an ordinary salaryman whose life has recently hit a painful dead end. After suffering a crushing romantic rejection, he spends his evening drowning his sorrows in alcohol, wandering the city streets in a haze of disappointment and quiet despair. He expects nothing more than a lonely walk back to his empty apartment, but fate intervenes when he stumbles upon a high school girl sitting alone on the pavement. She is a runaway with nowhere left to go, and in a desperate bid for shelter, she offers to sleep with him in exchange for a place to stay the night. Rather than exploiting her vulnerability, Yoshida firmly rejects the proposition and instead chooses to show her genuine compassion. He gives her a safe roof over her head, asking only that she contribute through simple household chores during her stay. What begins as a reluctant act of charity quickly evolves into an unconventional living arrangement between two deeply mismatched individuals. Bound by circumstance and navigating the awkward boundaries of their situation, this profoundly unbalanced pair embarks on an unexpected journey together, setting the stage for a uniquely heartwarming romantic comedy built on kindness, second chances, and unlikely companionship.
