Innocents Shounen Juujigun

Set in northern France during the height of the Crusades in 1212, the story follows a twelve-year-old shepherd named Etienne who suddenly declares himself God’s chosen emissary, tasked with reclaiming the Holy Land of Jerusalem. Armed with a blood-red horn and a mysterious letter written in Latin, his extraordinary claim is accepted as truth. Together with eleven other young boys, he embarks on a "Children's Crusade," determined to achieve what generations of adult warriors have failed to accomplish. As their journey unfolds, the crusade rapidly swells in numbers and influence. They are joined by hundreds of devoted young followers sent forth by their families in pursuit of glory, as well as a knight named Hugo who lends the formidable backing of the Knights Templar. Among the growing ranks is Michael, an enigmatic boy harboring a hidden secret. Yet beneath the swelling tide of faith and ambition, reality proves far darker than appearances suggest. Before long, the children find themselves confronting harrowing dangers that shatter their innocence and push them into unimaginable peril.
