Thunder Mask

Created by the legendary mangaka Osamu Tezuka, Thunder Mask offers a uniquely self-referential narrative that places its own author directly into the center of the action. Rather than remaining safely behind the drawing board, Tezuka finds himself unexpectedly thrust into the very science fiction world he helped conceptualize. This meta-fictional premise transforms the creator into the protagonist, blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination as he must navigate a perilous landscape defined by advanced technology and otherworldly threats. Within this futuristic setting, Tezuka is confronted by a dramatic conflict driven by powerful robots and mysterious transforming creatures. Stripped of his role as an omniscient storyteller, he must face the dangers of his own sci-fi universe firsthand, struggling to survive in an environment where mechanical beings and shape-shifting entities dictate the rules of engagement. The manga stands as a fascinating exploration of a creator trapped inside his own work, delivering a compelling tale of survival against towering machines and unpredictable metamorphic foes.
