Official Details
In a desperate bid for military supremacy, a samurai lord sacrifices his newborn son’s body parts to forty-eight demons in exchange for power on the battlefield. Miraculously, the discarded infant survives under the care of a physician who outfits him with rudimentary yet deadly prosthetics. Armed with these weapons, the wronged child embarks on a relentless quest to slay each demon and reclaim his stolen flesh before ultimately facing his father. Along the way, he is joined by an orphan who proclaims himself Japan’s greatest thief. Evoking the spirit of a classic road narrative, Dororo transcends its action-packed exterior to deliver a poignant allegory about identity and self-discovery, reminding us that no one enters the world complete.
