Zion no Koeda

Set against the harrowing backdrop of World War II, *Zion no Koeda* weaves together tales of captivity, survival, and desperate redemption. In its central narrative, Ernst, a once-renowned pianist, finds himself imprisoned within the home of his former pupil, Albert. As Nazi Germany accelerates its campaign to annihilate the Jewish people, Ernst is forced into a tense existence alongside a man whose ideological convictions and intense personal feelings violently clash with his own. Caught between Albert’s suffocating devotion and the horrors unfolding outside, Ernst must determine whether he will ever reclaim his freedom or remain forever tethered to his captor’s side. The collection also explores other lives shattered by war. Douglas Carlisle, left gravely wounded and on the brink of death upon a desolate battlefield, hears an old, forgotten call that grants him a newfound reason to survive. Elsewhere, a former Nazi official is held captive by a ruthless young doctor who knows his darkest secrets and remains determined to exact retribution for past atrocities. Through these interconnected stories of confinement and resilience, the manga examines the fragile line between salvation and damnation when humanity is pushed to its absolute limits.
