Giglio

Set against the unforgiving backdrop of the African desert during World War II, Giglio follows a severely wounded soldier whose physical trauma has fractured his mind. When a compassionate priest attempts to offer him aid and spiritual comfort, the soldier responds by taking the clergyman captive. Driven by an unhinged logic, he decides to abandon his military post entirely, dragging the kidnapped priest with him as he goes AWOL into the vast, scorching wasteland. As they traverse the barren landscape, their meager supplies begin to dwindle, pushing both men toward the brink of survival. The soldier’s grasp on reality—and perhaps his fundamental sense of morality—has long since eroded, leaving behind only raw desperation. Their harrowing journey devolves into a bleak existence defined solely by physical agony and carnal desire, marching inevitably toward the looming specter of death in a place where salvation seems impossible. Giglio is a Manga originally published in Reijin and Reijin Bravo! and later released as a doujin.
