Wandance

As Kaboku Kotani enters high school, his strategy for survival is simple: blend in. Burdened by a stutter that makes everyday interactions difficult, he prefers to remain silent and follow the lead of his peers rather than risk unwanted attention. Standing out has never felt like an option when merely getting through the day requires so much effort. Everything shifts when he witnesses fellow first-year student Hikari Wanda dancing with complete abandon. She moves as though no one is watching—or perhaps she simply does not care if they are. Her uninhibited expression sparks a quiet revelation within Kaboku, leaving him to wonder if he might also discover that same sense of liberation. Driven by this unexpected inspiration, he takes a leap he never imagined possible and joins the school’s dance club, hoping to find his way to her world. Every routine must begin somewhere, and for Kaboku, it starts with this single, courageous step. Together, he and Wanda embark on a journey of self-discovery, navigating the rhythms of youth, connection, and the freedom found in movement.
