Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night

Driven by a shared desire to discover what they truly love, four young women find themselves drawn together in the vibrant, identity-driven city of Shibuya. Illustrator Mahiru Kozuki, former idol Kano Yamanouchi, VTuber Kiui Watase, and composer Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi each feel slightly disconnected from the world around them. Wandering the late-night streets of this bustling metropolis, they cross paths and recognize a kindred spirit in one another, united by their quiet sense of not quite belonging. Seeking a creative outlet that transcends their individual insecurities, the quartet forms an anonymous artist collective known as JELEE. Each member harbors a deep-seated wish to shine just as brightly as the people they admire, yet struggles to step into the spotlight alone. By shedding their personal identities and working under a unified banner, they discover a profound new possibility. They realize that while standing out on their own feels impossible, joining forces as a collective might finally give them the courage to illuminate the night.
