Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness

After a decade-long absence, Nagomu Irino finally returns to his hometown of Kyoto upon learning that his father has been hospitalized. Having spent years away, he comes back with a singular ambition: to assume control of Ryokushou, his family’s traditional Japanese confectionery shop. He envisions stepping seamlessly into the role of successor, continuing the legacy he left behind and proving himself worthy of the family business. However, his homecoming does not unfold as he anticipated. Instead of being welcomed as the future owner of the sweet shop, Nagomu is confronted with an unexpected reality. The staff and family have already rallied around a young girl named Itsuka Yukihira, viewing her as the true heir to Ryokushou. Rather than handing over the reins of the business, Nagomu’s father makes a profoundly different request, asking him to serve as a guardian and paternal figure to Itsuka. This revelation forces Nagomu to completely reconsider his purpose in Kyoto. Stripped of his assumed destiny at the confectionery, he must navigate the delicate challenge of supporting a child who now holds the position he once coveted. Amidst the rich traditions of Japanese sweets and the historic streets of Kyoto, Nagomu begins an unforeseen journey of responsibility, connection, and personal growth.
