Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway

After suffering a painful rejection from the woman he loves, twenty-six-year-old salaryman Yoshida attempts to drown his sorrows in alcohol. Stumbling home in a heavily intoxicated state, he unexpectedly encounters a high school girl named Sayu sitting alone on the street. Despite his impaired judgment, he ends up offering her a place to sleep for the night, setting into motion an arrangement neither of them could have anticipated. When morning arrives and Yoshida sobers up, he learns that Sayu is a runaway who has nowhere else to go. Unable to bring himself to turn a vulnerable teenager back out onto the streets, he makes the reluctant decision to let her remain in his apartment. What begins as a temporary act of compassion quickly evolves into a complicated domestic situation, forcing a responsible working adult to navigate the challenges of cohabitating with a young stranger. As the days pass, their unconventional living arrangement gives rise to a relationship defined by awkward tension, occasional frustration, and unexpected moments of genuine warmth. Bound together by circumstance rather than choice, the runaway high school student and the heartbroken salaryman must figure out how to share a life under one roof while confronting the personal struggles that brought them together in the first place.
