More than twenty years after his sudden disappearance, Akira Sajima unexpectedly reappears in the life of Makoto Oe, who now runs a modest local bakery. With nowhere else to go, Akira proposes an arrangement: he will help out at the shop in exchange for living under Makoto's roof. What begins as a practical solution quickly evolves into a shared domestic life within the small house attached to the bakery, forcing the two childhood friends to navigate a closeness they haven't experienced in decades. As their days fall into a quiet routine, Akira grows increasingly affectionate, whispering tender promises each night and urging Makoto to let them "become a family." Yet beneath this warmth lies an unsettling ambiguity. While Akira is open with his feelings in the present, he remains completely evasive whenever Makoto asks about the past. The one question that lingers—what exactly happened during the twenty years he was missing—is met only with silence, leaving Makoto caught between the comfort of a long-lost friend and the mystery of what he might be hiding.
