Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather

Yakuza leaders are traditionally defined by their ruthless authority, treating subordinates as expendable assets within a merciless criminal enterprise. When Chikara Doumeki, a former police officer and ex-convict, takes on a new role as a personal bodyguard, he quickly discovers that his employer defies every expectation of the underworld. Yashiro presents an outwardly detached demeanor consistent with other crime bosses, yet harbors a deeply hidden masochistic nature, finding as much satisfaction in enduring pain as his position demands him to inflict it. Beneath his cold exterior, Yashiro also harbors intimate feelings for certain members of his syndicate that extend far beyond standard loyalty or professional obligation. This dangerous emotional territory now directly involves Chikara, who finds himself drawn into a complex dynamic with his enigmatic superior. However, navigating this unconventional relationship proves difficult for both men. Chikara carries his own unresolved personal burdens, and his background in law enforcement has left him exceptionally guarded. While Yashiro pushes boundaries within the criminal hierarchy, Chikara remains determined to maintain strict emotional distance, setting the stage for a tense and intricate power struggle between protector and boss.
