Kyuuketsu Shoujo Carmilla

A loose adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu's classic Gothic tale Carmilla, this manga follows young Chizuko Kitagawa as she spends her summer vacation in the quiet countryside. Accompanied by her parents, her older brother, and the family's longtime maid, Chizuko expects nothing more than a peaceful retreat. However, the tranquility of their holiday is abruptly shattered one night when she and her brother rescue a mysterious foreign girl named Carmilla from a severe car accident. The arrival of the enigmatic stranger brings with it an unsettling sense of déjà vu. Carmilla bears a striking resemblance to a woman who appeared in her brother's dreams a decade earlier, hinting at a deeper, unspoken connection. Moved by compassion, the entire family invites the injured girl to remain in their home until she fully recovers. Yet not everyone welcomes her presence. The elderly maid vehemently opposes the arrangement, issuing dire warnings that Carmilla must leave immediately or terrible misfortune will befall the household. As tensions rise between the family's hospitality and the servant's ominous fears, a dark shadow begins to loom over their idyllic summer.
