Left and Right

This volume presents a curated collection of early works by acclaimed manga artist Ryoko Yamagishi, offering readers a glimpse into the foundational storytelling that would later define her celebrated career. The anthology gathers five distinct short stories, each exploring different emotional landscapes and narrative styles characteristic of Yamagishi's formative years as a creator. The titular story, "Left and Right," is accompanied by four other notable pieces: "Hello! Young Young," "3, 2, 1, 0!," "Lacrima," and the highly influential "Shiroi Heya no Futari" (The Two in the White Room). Together, these works showcase the author's early experimentation with character dynamics and dramatic themes, serving as an essential compilation for those interested in the historical evolution of shoujo manga and Yamagishi's artistic journey.
