NonResistance City

In the aftermath of World War II, a destitute woman and her young son struggle to survive on the unforgiving streets. Clinging to the fading hope that her husband will eventually return from the war, she endures their harsh daily existence with quiet desperation. Her isolated life begins to shift when a dwarfed man gradually extends his friendship toward her. Initially, she rejects his overtures, wary of his intentions and reluctant to accept charity. However, as poverty tightens its grip and options for her child dwindle to nothing, she is ultimately forced to lower her defenses and rely on his assistance. Despite her growing dependence on him, a lingering anxiety shadows their dynamic. She constantly fears that his generosity comes with unspoken expectations of a romantic or physical relationship in return. As their bond deepens, the narrative carefully explores this fragile arrangement, repeatedly suggesting that both individuals may be quietly exploiting the other for their own survival. What begins as a grounded tale of postwar hardship and mutual manipulation, however, eventually veers into deeply unexpected territory, taking a strange turn that challenges everything established between them.
