Frankenstein

In this striking adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic tale, the acclaimed master of horror manga channels his full artistic prowess into a haunting visual narrative. The story centers on the tragic existence of an anguished and solitary monster, a being brought into the world through unnatural means, who is forced to navigate a life defined by profound isolation and suffering. Standing in stark contrast to his creation is the scientist himself, portrayed not as a visionary but as a far fouler beast consumed by his own ambition. The deep conflict between creator and creation forms the emotional core of the work, exploring the monstrous nature of humanity alongside the torment of the creature it spawned. Rendered in the brilliantly detailed chiaroscuro style for which the artist is celebrated, every page immerses the reader in a world of sharp shadows and striking contrasts. This masterful use of light and darkness elevates the gothic tragedy, transforming a timeless literary nightmare into a visually breathtaking manga experience that honors both its original source material and the unique talents of its illustrator.
