Kozure Ookami

Kozure Ookami is a manga composed of several interconnected short stories, centering primarily on the lives of two divorced fathers navigating single parenthood. By sheer coincidence, both men move into the same apartment building on the exact same day. Brought together by their shared circumstances and the mutual challenges of raising children alone, they quickly form a strong bond. What begins as a practical camaraderie soon deepens into a genuine friendship as they lean on one another for support in their new daily routines. Their platonic connection takes an unexpected turn one evening when the two men share a few too many drinks. The alcohol lowers their inhibitions, shifting the dynamic of their relationship in ways neither anticipated. The story explores this transition from close companions to romantic partners with warmth and humor. Often described as a modern, domestic reimagining of the classic Lone Wolf and Cub premise doubled, the series strips away the samurai battles, swords, and violence entirely. In place of action and gore, it offers a heartfelt narrative focused on adult romance between men, the complexities of fatherhood, and the occasional consequences of overindulging at the end of a long day.
