Happy Every Day

For Megumi, the daily routine of working as a part-time cashier at a local convenience store is far from a burden. In fact, she welcomes every shift with quiet enthusiasm, driven by a single, heartwarming motivation: the chance to see one very special customer who visits the store. To her, he is nothing short of a prince, and his mere presence transforms an ordinary job into something she genuinely looks forward to each day. However, admiring him from behind the register is only half the story. Megumi harbors a deep desire for this cherished customer to truly notice her, but bridging the gap between silent admiration and genuine connection requires more than just waiting for him to walk through the automatic doors. Her greatest obstacle lies within herself. Before any meaningful interaction can occur, she must first find the courage to step out from behind the counter of her own hesitation, break the silence, and finally speak to the person who makes every day feel a little brighter.
