Mobile Suit Gundam I

In Universal Century 0079, Earth’s population exceeds ninety million, with many inhabitants compelled to reside in massive cylindrical space colonies known as Sides under the authority of the Earth Federation Space Force. Tensions escalate when Side 3, situated near the dark side of the moon, declares independence and establishes itself as the Principality of Zeon. After eight months of conflict, the war has reached a stalemate with no resolution in sight. In a desperate effort to break the deadlock, the Federation develops a new military asset: the warship White Base and an advanced Mobile Suit designated the Gundam. Yet this critical technology is entrusted not to veteran soldiers, but to young, inexperienced pilots.
