Welcome to the N.H.K.

Tatsuhiro Satou, a twenty-two-year-old college dropout, has lived as a hikikomori for nearly four years. During his prolonged isolation, he has adopted various fringe conspiracy theories, but none with more conviction than his belief that the Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai (NHK) is a sinister organization deliberately engineering his status as a NEET. Welcome to the N.H.K. is a psychological dramedy chronicling Tatsuhiro’s attempts to break free from both this imagined conspiracy and the self-imposed prison of his apartment as he struggles to reenter society and find employment. A chance encounter with the enigmatic Misaki Nakahara offers a glimmer of hope for change, yet it also forces him to confront the very thing he fears most: human interaction.
