Summary

In the eight hundredth year of the Universal Calendar, the second year of the New Empire Calendar, Emperor Reinhard led tens of millions of troops in an assault on Iserlohn, seeking a decisive confrontation with Yang Wen-li. This clash came to be known as the Corridor Decisive Battle. Yang Wen-li made flexible use of the corridor's narrow terrain, maneuvering against the empire's many victorious commanders. The fighting was fierce and costly. After both sides had suffered heavy losses, Reinhard finally extended an invitation to Yang Wen-li for an armistice and peace negotiations, which Yang readily accepted. As he prepared to attend, a long-planned assassin took aim at the thirty-three-year-old Yang Wen-li.
