Set thirty years after the events of Char's Counterattack, Mobile Suit Gundam F91 is a new saga created by Gundam's original developer, Yoshiyuki Tomino. The story takes place in the year U.C. 0123 and revolves around Seabook Arno, a teenage space colonist, and his friend Cecily Fairchild. They find themselves at the center of the efforts of the Crossbone Vanguard militia, led by Cecily's grandfather Meitzer Ronah, to establish an aristocracy known as "Cosmo Babylonia." Seabook, a civilian, is forced to pilot the F91 Gundam, a mobile suit designed by his estranged mother, Dr. Monica Arno.
