Martian Successor Nadesico The story follows Akito, a young man who has grown up on Mars, where he was raised on the anime Gekiganger 3, a Mecha show. However, unlike his peers, Akito's interest lies in cooking rather than piloting Mechs. His life takes a dramatic turn when his home on Mars is destroyed, and he is mysteriously transported to Earth. In an attempt to understand his new surroundings, Akito follows a girl he meets by chance, Yurika, who is the captain of the private battleship Nadesico. To get closer to her, Akito enlists as the ship's cook, despite not having any experience. Unbeknownst to him, Akito possesses nanite implants that grant him the ability to control Mechs, making him a valuable asset to the crew. As Akito joins the crew of the Nadesico, he discovers that they are a group of misfits, otakus, and ditzes who are, in reality, expertly trained and handpicked for their unique skills. The crew's primary objective is to avenge Mars, which was destroyed in a catastrophic event. As they take their private war back to Mars, they must confront the harsh reality that life is not always like the idealized world of Giant Mecha Series.
