Records of the Swordsman Scholar

Passing the Imperial Examination at an exceptional young age, scholar Woon Hyun steps through the palace gates with dreams of honor and purpose. Yet the reality he finds is far from glorious. His days devolve into a wearying cycle of servitude, as he is forced to cater to the Crown Prince's endless whims and eccentric hobbies. Trapped in a role that offers no recognition and little respite, Woon Hyun quickly grows to lament the gilded cage that the palace has become. But even amid the drudgery, he refuses to relinquish his ambitions. Driven by a quiet, unyielding resolve, Woon Hyun dedicates himself to mastering martial arts in secret, training his scholar's hands to grasp the ways of the blade and fist. Just when he believes his double life will define his future, a startling shift occurs—he chooses to set down the sword and pick up his brush once more. Only this time, he does not write poetry or policy. He wields his ink-stained tool as a weapon, daring to conquer the chaotic world of Murim through the very medium of his scholarly identity. This is the hidden chronicle of the prodigy who traded the court's formalism for the martial realm's brutality—a young man whose brush strokes paint not verses, but the path to domination.
