In modern-day Japan, individuals born with extraordinary "divine power" are known as Himiko. Those who successfully pass a rigorous national certification process earn the prestigious title of Kamisama—literally meaning "God." Following the passing of Nagi's grandmother, her family's hometown shrine is left without a presiding deity, plunging it into a state of crisis. The natural successor should have been Nagi's twin brother, Takeru, who inherited the divine gift. Unfortunately, he has become a complete shut-in, leaving the shrine's future in jeopardy and forcing Nagi to take matters into her own hands. Determined to save her family's legacy, Nagi seizes an unexpected opportunity and enrolls in the Kamisama Gakkou, a specialized academy dedicated entirely to training Himiko. Surrounded by peers who possess the very abilities she lacks, she faces an uphill battle as an underdog in a world governed by divine talent.
