Alongside these consumer trends, entirely new industries have emerged to reshape human experience. Businesses now offer services to help individuals reclaim lost memories, while other facilities allow the deceased to be uploaded to the internet so they can continue living out their existences in virtual reality. Despite these sweeping societal transformations, the two girls approach their world with striking normalcy. Encounters with androids, bizarre monsters, and extraterrestrial beings are met not with panic, but as routine occurrences woven into the fabric of everyday life.
