(Abu)Normal

Twenty-nine-year-old Eiko Abu is a single woman who views the entire world through a rigid, uncompromising lens. To her, every person, action, and circumstance must be strictly categorized into one of two distinct classifications: "normal" or "not normal." Driven by an intense desire to maintain a perfectly conventional existence, she dedicates herself entirely to this binary philosophy, treating any deviation from her strict standards as a fundamental flaw that must be addressed or avoided. However, this relentless pursuit of conformity comes at a severe personal cost. As Eiko's obsession with categorizing reality deepens, it begins to fracture the very foundation of her life, slowly eroding the meaningful relationships she has worked so hard to build. Her unwavering fixation alienates those closest to her, transforming her quest for an ordinary life into a self-destructive spiral where genuine human connection becomes impossible to sustain. As the boundaries between acceptable behavior and perceived deviance blur, the story delves into profound psychological territory. It forces both its protagonist and its audience to confront difficult questions about the true nature of conformity, asking what genuinely defines the normal and the abnormal. Through this tense exploration of fractured logic and challenged societal standards, the narrative unfolds as a gripping work of psychological suspense.
