Koizumi Shintarou, a 30-year-old man who has isolated himself in his room for 15 years, makes a proposition to his father, Yasujirou: if Yasujirou gets a girlfriend, Shintarou will emerge from his room. Yasujirou accepts and meets Haruka Yoshinaga, a young and beautiful woman with her own ulterior motives. Despite her initial intentions, Haruka agrees to marry Yasujirou, but their honeymoon is tragically cut short when Yasujirou passes away. Now, Haruka takes it upon herself to care for Shintarou, leading to an unusual "mother-son" living arrangement in the same household.
