Massara

Massara is an original net animation inspired by the song of the same name, which served as the debut solo single for Kiyoe Yoshioka of the musical group Ikimono-gakari. Brought to life under the direction of Keita Nagahara and produced by the animation studio ENISHIYA Inc., this short film translates the emotional resonance of the music into a compelling visual narrative. The story follows Nazuna, a dedicated singer-songwriter who finds herself standing at a painful crossroads. After years of pursuing her musical ambitions, she is on the verge of abandoning her dream entirely, worn down by the weight of her unfulfilled aspirations. Her path unexpectedly intersects with Yuna, a profoundly shy girl navigating her own quiet struggles in life. Though they come from different places emotionally, their chance encounter sparks a meaningful connection. As they spend time together, Nazuna and Yuna begin to profoundly influence one another, offering the encouragement and perspective each desperately needs. Through their shared bond, both young women find the strength to step forward, ultimately inspiring each other to shape their own futures rather than surrendering to doubt.
