Nasu to Altair

Sixteen-year-old high school student Manda Mitsuo navigates a quiet but unconventional home life following the passing of his father. He now lives with his thirty-one-year-old stepmother, Manda Minato, who was once one of his late father’s students. Beyond their unusual family dynamic, Minato possesses an undeniable charm that proves to be a constant source of distress for Mitsuo. Her sheer adorableness triggers a painful, involuntary physical reaction in him whenever he is exposed to things he finds overwhelmingly cute, turning simple domestic moments into unexpected ordeals. Outside the walls of his home, Mitsuo’s daily routine grows even more complicated at school. There, he encounters Kitou, a girl whose deeply intimidating presence masks a clumsy and awkward desire to get closer to him. Caught between her earnest but daunting attempts at connection and his own peculiar sensitivities, Mitsuo struggles to maintain any sense of normalcy. Alongside a circle of other friends, these contrasting relationships weave together the fabric of his highly unusual everyday life. Balancing the quirks of his household with the unpredictable social dynamics of his school days, Mitsuo must find his footing in a world where both affection and intimidation constantly keep him off balance.
