Mada, Ikiteru... 2

Years after the sudden disappearance of his father, Masao Okada finds himself struggling under the weight of a life that has steadily unraveled. His personal circumstances have grown increasingly bleak, leaving him isolated and burdened by failures that seem impossible to overcome. Just when he believes he has reached his lowest point, Masao uncovers the truth about his father’s final years. Learning how his father chose to spend the last chapter of his life profoundly shifts Masao's perspective, forcing him to confront his own despair and the fragile nature of survival. Stripped of hope and convinced he has absolutely nothing left to lose, Masao makes a drastic decision that mirrors the path his father once walked. He abandons the remnants of his failing life in society and retreats into the wilderness. Choosing to live entirely alone in the forest, he steps away from human connection and modern comforts. This solitary existence becomes both a refuge and a crucible, as Masao attempts to navigate the harsh realities of nature while searching for meaning in the quiet aftermath of his family's fractured history.
