Shinigami no Hanayome: Yomei 7-nichi kara no Koufuku

For the reaper known as Shinigami, there is no greater ecstasy than the exquisite terror that flickers across a human face in their final moments. He does not merely claim souls; he savors the hunt, stalking his quarry through the shadows of their fading lives and drinking in their desperate cries before his scythe descends to sever their last thread of existence. His is a cold and solitary eternity, defined entirely by the symphony of anguish that precedes each death, and he has never known anything beyond the thrill of the chase. Yet one night, his unvarying routine is shattered. He is drawn to a room overflowing with vibrant, improbable blooms—a stark sanctuary of life amidst the creeping decay of mortality. There lies a young woman on the precipice of death, her fate already sealed. But instead of the tears and terror he so craves, she meets his gaze with a tranquil, earnest smile. There is no fear in her eyes, no plea for mercy—only an unnerving acceptance that turns his world upside down. For the first time in his eternal existence, the reaper is faced with a soul he cannot comprehend. What drives a dying girl to smile at the very specter of her end? As her remaining days dwindle, he finds himself drawn not to harvest her, but to understand her—a profound shift that threatens to unravel the very purpose he was created for, forcing him to confront the unsettling possibility that death may not always be met with despair.
