Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Flower of Happiness

Aya Yajima’s first light novel for *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba*, *The Flower of Happiness*, weaves together five distinct tales that explore the quiet moments between battles and the bonds that sustain the demon slayers. In the wake of the Drum House ordeal, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke find themselves drawn into the rustic festivities of a village wedding, where their boisterous camaraderie clashes with—and ultimately embraces—the tender traditions of rural life. Later, following the harrowing events on Natagumo Mountain, Zenitsu is granted a rare moment of peace during an errand with Nezuko, only to find his thoughts drifting back to a poignant encounter with a mysterious woman named Sayuri, a memory that reshapes his understanding of kindness and sacrifice. As the trio recovers from the devastating Infinity Train mission, Shinobu orchestrates a simple sweets run to lift their spirits, but a chance meeting with a fortune teller on the road back to the Butterfly Mansion forces them to confront unsettling glimpses of what lies ahead. Meanwhile, Shinobu dispatches the quiet Kanao to accompany Aoi on a journey to the apothecary, offering a gentle spotlight on the fledgling friendship between two young women navigating their own doubts and duties. Rounding out the collection is a playful detour into a modern-day school alternate universe, where Zenitsu, desperate to escape the overbearing Morals Committee, rallies his friends for a seemingly simple rescue mission—only to discover that the faculty’s collective incompetence turns every well-laid plan into a delightful disaster.
