Souyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index

In a world where the arcane arts of magic and the advanced sciences of espers exist side by side, the sprawling metropolis of Academy City stands as the crowning achievement of the scientific realm. A bustling educational powerhouse where over eighty percent of its population consists of students, the city is renowned for its rigorous curriculum designed to cultivate supernatural abilities. Yet, as the chill of winter descends and the streets illuminate with festive lights, the ordinary rhythms of academic life give way to a palpable, electric anticipation—for tonight is Christmas Eve, the one night of the year that sets every heart racing with excitement. Even the perpetually unfortunate Kamijou Touma, a boy who can barely keep pace with his school's demanding schedule, finds himself caught in the season's unruly tide. While his peers revel in the city's cheerful chaos, he is resigned to slogging through his supplementary lessons, his usual streak of bad luck working overtime. Back at his cramped dormitory, however, a far more precarious situation is brewing. Index, the silver-haired nun who has made his home her personal sanctuary, finds herself swept up in the romantic, pulse-pounding spirit of the evening—an atmosphere that unexpectedly awakens a new, voracious skill within her. As Kamijou scrambles to prevent the inevitable disaster her gluttony is about to unleash, a new variable enters the fray: Misaka Mikoto, the ace of the city's espers, has also been enchanted by the Christmas Eve magic and comes seeking him out, setting the stage for a festive night that promises anything but peace.
