Nestled along the Setouchi coast, Hoshimi is an isolated town where residential neighborhoods are squeezed onto a narrow strip of land between the sea and the mountains. Far removed from modern conveniences like convenience stores, arcades, or family restaurants, the community relies on its natural surroundings. Here lives Rokurou, a second-year middle school student known for his caring nature and a knowledge of the ocean that far surpasses that of his peers. His life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Seto, the daughter of the former autocratic president of the Murakami Mining Company. Despite her wealthy background, Seto is entirely unfamiliar with the outside world and lacks any practical means to support herself, having been attempting to live in complete self-sufficiency. Following a sudden twist of fate, Rokurou decides to take her under his wing. Together, they navigate their unique circumstances by hunting for food along the rocky shoreline, forging an unlikely bond shaped by the tides.
