Geumnag-ri

Every summer, Hui-Jae is tormented by nightmares of snakes slithering into her home. Like a relentless dream she cannot outrun, the past she believed was buried forever finally catches up to her. For eleven years, she has lived in Seoul as a cold, calculating lawyer, but under the guise of consulting on a redevelopment dispute, she returns to her rural hometown of Geumnak-ri. It is the very place where her father’s death shattered her memories, leaving behind only hollow fragments of a life she can no longer recall. In Geumnak-ri, she encounters Kim Se-Won, the CEO of Geumseong D&C and the man standing directly opposite her client. More dangerously, he is the one who holds all of Hui-Jae’s forgotten history in his hands—and the same man who once carved an indelible wound into her life. Every encounter with him triggers vivid flashes she cannot distinguish from dreams: red roses, an old side door, a school uniform, and his low voice calling her name. He whispers unsettling words about her beauty and chillingly asks what she would give him if he killed her father. As Se-Won remembers everything while she struggles with her fractured mind, Hui-Jae must uncover the terrifying truth of what happened in Geumnak-ri eleven years ago.
