Ikiru Kabe

Ikiru Kabe is a visual poem that captures the profound and enduring essence of a wall. Rooted permanently in a single location, it stands as an immovable presence, entirely incapable of shifting even slightly from its designated place. Rather than acting, it simply exists, serving as a silent witness to the world unfolding around it. As time passes, the wall watches countless individuals journey by, observing their fleeting lives while remaining anchored in absolute stillness. It quietly sees off every passerby, standing apart from the transient flow of humanity. Left behind in perpetual solitude, it slowly deteriorates, weathering the quiet decay that accompanies its endless isolation. Yet, despite this gradual rotting and the heavy burden of being forever alone, the wall refuses to surrender. It persists through the passage of time, embodying a resilient will to endure. This poetic meditation explores what it means to continue living when one is destined only to watch others move forward, finding a quiet, unwavering strength in simply remaining.
